White House to celebrate Easter in ‘return to golden era’ – Washington Examiner
The article discusses the contrasting approaches to Easter celebrations by President Donald trump and former President Joe Biden. While Biden, a lifelong Catholic, marked his final Easter in office by designating it as a “Day of Trans visibility,” Trump emphasizes a more traditional Christian observance. He has already hosted faith leaders for an evening prayer service at the White House and made a video message celebrating Easter.Jennifer Korn, the White House Faith Office Director, highlighted the differences in their administrations, stating that Trump’s White House welcomes prayer and worship, reflecting a return to a more faith-driven approach.
Korn also mentioned Trump’s deepened faith following two assassination attempts, suggesting that he feels a divine purpose to continue serving the American peopel. In support of this religious focus, Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) introduced legislation to designate the Monday after Easter as a federal holiday. The article concludes by noting Trump’s historically intertwined politics and religion, though this year’s easter observance was less politically charged than in the past.
White House to celebrate Easter in ‘return to golden era’
The White House Faith Office said President Donald Trump will ring in the Easter holiday differently than his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.
Biden, a lifelong Catholic, designated his last Easter in office as a “Day of Trans Visibility,” opting to appeal to the transgender community on the religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus. In contrast, Trump already hosted faith leaders at the White House for an evening of prayer and released a video message for the holiday.
“What a stark difference from two administrations,” White House Faith Office Director Jennifer Korn said Thursday on Fox News’s Fox & Friends. “Such a super contrast that faith leaders are welcome into this White House, that prayer and worship are welcome, and that we are celebrating just like all other Americans who celebrate Easter are celebrating.”
Korn noted the difference in Trump’s reverence for religion after he survived two assassination attempts. Trump came particularly close to death in Butler, Pennsylvania, when his ear was struck by a bullet.
“As he said publicly, and he says the same thing privately, he knows God spared his life on July 13. You just see a resolve and you see that determination and humility here in order to do such an amazing job for the American people,” Korn said. “And he knows God spared his life so he could make America great again and return America to the golden age. That includes bringing faith back to the White House and back to America.”

Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) followed suit with the White House in an effort to protect the religious holiday. He introduced legislation to make the Monday after Easter Sunday a federal holiday.
Trump has often toed the line between politics and religion, as the National Prayer Breakfast during his first term in office coincided with his near-impeachment. During the service, Trump held up a newspaper with the headline “Acquitted” in reference to his impeachment. This year’s service had less of a political theme.
