The star of the Duck Dynasty reality TV show discussed on Tucker Carlson’s podcast how he was confident Trump would win the 2024 election against Vice President Kamala Harris. He said he called the race “at 8:33 central time” when he saw North Carolina and Virginia “sitting sober,” as Trump only lost the latter state by less than six percentage points. He said he had “a good sense” about Trump’s win when assessing the general mood of people.

“I was just kind of looking at the culture and looking at what people are saying and it’s like ‘he’s got a lot of people that are,’ you know,” Robertson told Carlson. “Cause it wasn’t as weird as it was before. Now, it’s kind of cool. You weren’t ostracized as much.”

Robertson noted how the momentum Trump experienced in the 2024 cycle greatly differed from 2020, as “people did not like” their current president amid the COVID-19 pandemic. When looking back at his initial prediction for the 2020 election, Robertson said Trump would win reelection “unless something really weird happens,” which ended up being the pandemic.

Carlson then asked Robertson if he knew of anyone in Louisiana, Robertson’s home state, who had questions about the legitimacy of the 2020 election, to which the reality TV star said, “We all got questions.”

He noted that “there’s tons of people” who have questioned the election results over time, joking that he did not realize “it was a crime” to ensure election results are legitimate.

About Robertson’s future, the reality TV star previewed his next show, which he pitched as “the next generation of Duck Dynasty.” He noted a lot has happened with his family in the seven years since the original show ended in 2017, and reflected on how many fans he has met who watched his original show on A&E and have thanked him for the good memories the show provided them.

Robertson said his show’s fans want to be entertained while also learning new things, saying some viewers had never prayed before a meal like how every episode of Duck Dynasty would end. He also argued that the concept of families having a meal together every night has become less common and that the country is “changing” due to people searching for “answers.”
