Woke Agenda Survives: These House Republicans Are Sticking With ‘Diversity and Inclusion’

While Democrats may have lost control of House of Representatives, it appears that Republicans are continuing their tradition of diversity and inclusion.
Republican congressman Patrick McHenry, N.C., is currently the chairman of House Financial Services Committee. announced earlier this month that there would be six subcommittees—and all of them will count advancing “diversity and inclusion” According to the announcement by the committee, it was one of their top priorities.
For example, the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, headed by Republican Ann Wagner from Missouri, will identify “best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the capital markets industry.” The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, headed by Republican Bill Huizenga from Michigan, has been charged with ensuring that there is “agency and programmatic commitment to diversity and inclusion policies.” There were no other oversight focuses.
Inclusion and diversity, the two horses of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Triumvirate, have been a focus for Democrats and left-wing activists over recent years. The promise that Democrats would end their DEI craze helped Republicans win a narrow majority of the midterm elections. It was a common barb The Republican National Committee is an example of that “Democrats prioritize wokeness over solving real problems.”
McHenry was an ally of Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) and was chosen to lead the influential committee in December. McHenry’s initial announcement of priorities for the committee under his leadership included conducting “aggressive oversight” Biden administration, which put Americans back in charge of their financial data and regulated the crypto market. In a statement, the Washington Free BeaconMcHenry stated that the Republican leadership of the committee would be “refocus the committee on the kitchen table issues that matter to American families.”
“For four years, Democrats wasted the valuable and limited time and resources of our committee to push burdensome mandates on American job creators,” McHenry added. “Democrats’ goal was to name and shame companies until they parroted their woke social agenda.”
The statement did not mention diversity or inclusion.
Although one of McHenry’s first acts as chairman was to dissolve the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion established by his predecessor Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.), the task set out by
