Woke DA DeSantis Suspended Allegedly Took Taxpayer-Funded Trips To Attend Leftist DA Group Events: Report

The Democratic state prosecutor who Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis suspended allegedly made several taxpayer-funder trips to attend events held by an activist group featuring some of the most famous radical Left district attorneys in the country, according to a report.

The Florida Standard reported that it obtained records through the Freedom of Information Act confirming a source a sources’ allegation that Andrew Warren used Florida taxpayer money to fund meetings and events that involved trips across the U.S. from 2017 to 2022. The records, which were not posted online, allegedly show Warren traveled to events held by the group Fair and Just Prosecutions in Seattle in July 2017, Boston in September 2017, New York in August 2018, Houston in December 2018, New York in September 2021, and Washington D.C. in May 2022.

When asked about this fact at a press conference at which he spoke of his lawsuit targeting DeSantis, Warren replied, “If your question isn’t about the lawsuit I’m not taking the question.”

Fair and Just Prosecutions boasts on its website, “With communities across the nation reimagining public safety and calling for an end to mass incarceration, a new generation of elected prosecutors has emerged with a powerful vision to transform the criminal legal system.”

Some of the notable left-wing district attorneys who are members of the group include prosecutors like Chesa Boudin, Kim Foxx of Cook County, Illinois, Marilyn Mosby of Baltimore, Maryland, Larry Krasner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and George Gascon of Los Angeles County, California.

“State Attorneys have a duty to prosecute crimes as defined in Florida law, not to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda,” DeSantis stated earlier this month when he announced his suspension of Warren. “It is my duty to hold Florida’s elected officials to the highest standards for the people of Florida.”

Warren had promised not to prosecute anyone who violated the state’s 15-week abortion ban or anyone who provided gender re-assignment surgery for minors.

In his executive order, DeSantis wrote that Warren “demonstrated his incompetence and willful defiance of his duties as a state attorney as early as June 2021, when he signed a ‘Joint Statement’ with other elected prosecutors in support of gender-transition treatments for children and bathroom usage based on gender identity.”

“Warren has acted as a law unto himself by instituting a policy during his current term of presumptive non-enforcement for certain criminal violations, including trespassing at a business location, disorderly conduct, disorderly intoxication, and prostitution,” he added.

“Warren’s erroneous understanding of his duties recently culminated in his public declaration that he would not enforce criminal laws enacted by the Florida legislature that prohibit providers from performing certain abortions to protect the lives of unborn children,” DeSantis continued, before noting the gruesome process entailed in abortions performed after 15 weeks’ gestation.
