With Tiger’s 16-year-old ‌daughter ‌Sam caddying, the pair shot a sparkling second⁢ round 11-under⁣ to⁢ finish tied for⁣ fifth at the event formerly⁢ known as the ⁤Father/Son Challenge.

“To have both my kids out there the last two days⁣ has ⁣been so ⁣special,” Woods told reporters. “Just grateful ⁤for us to be ‍able to have these types of experiences.”

Charlie, 14, did an emphatic fist⁣ pump ⁢reminiscent of his father after chipping in ‍for birdie on the ⁤ninth as a beaming Tiger looked on with a broad smile across his face.

Woods said his⁣ surgically repaired right ankle continues to hold up well⁣ and that he recovered quickly after the Hero World Challenge ‍in ⁢the Bahamas earlier this month.

“A lot of things‌ are aching a lot ‍more‍ than my ankle,‌ which is the way‌ it ‍goes,” said Woods, who turns ‍48 next week.

“We’ve been working out⁢ hard, been able to recover. We’ve been ⁢training every day, which is great.

“It’s been nice to knock off a‌ lot of the rust and some of the doubt that ⁤I’ve had because‍ quite frankly‌ I haven’t hit a shot that counted in a long time.”

The Hero World Challenge⁣ was the former world number one’s first ‍event since⁤ withdrawing during the Masters in April to have his‍ ankle fused.

The 15-time major champion has kept a limited competition ⁣schedule after a 2021 ‍car crash left him with a serious leg injury and has said‍ the plan for 2024 ⁢was to compete in one tournament a month.

Woods, ‍who was‍ able‌ to use a ⁣cart at the PNC but will not have that luxury ⁤on⁢ the PGA Tour, said he still had the shot-making skills to win and it‍ is ‌now a ⁤question of endurance and consistency.

“I know I can⁣ still do it,” Woods said. “I can still hit the golf ball. ⁣I can still‌ chip. I can still put.

“Granted it’s also putting it all together for 72 holes.⁢ That’s the challenging part of it.”

Tiger Woods’s Belief in Winning on ‌the PGA⁢ Tour

December 17, 2023 – ⁣4:09 PM PST

Tiger Woods, a legendary golfer, believes⁢ that‍ he still has what it takes to win on the PGA Tour. ⁢After participating in the PNC Championship in ⁢Orlando on Sunday, Woods expressed his appreciation for the event and⁤ his optimism about his future in the sport.

During the tournament, Woods and his 16-year-old daughter Sam⁤ teamed up⁢ as player and ⁤caddie, respectively. Together, they performed exceptionally well, shooting a remarkable 11-under in‌ the final round to finish tied ⁢for fifth ⁤place. This event, formerly ‍known as the⁣ Father/Son Challenge, held a special significance for Woods as he ⁢got‌ to share the ⁤experience with ‍both of his children.

“To have both my kids out ⁤there the last ⁢two‍ days has⁣ been so special,” Woods⁣ shared with reporters. “Just grateful for us to be able to have‌ these types of experiences.” His son Charlie, 14, even displayed his skill by chipping in for a birdie on the ninth hole, creating a heartwarming‍ moment ‌that reminded⁢ everyone ⁢of Tiger’s signature move—the emphatic fist pump.

Despite undergoing surgery to repair his right ankle, Woods stated that he continues to recover well. The Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas earlier this month was his first tournament since withdrawing from the ‌Masters⁣ in April ⁣due to⁢ his⁣ ankle fusion‌ procedure. However, he‍ assured everyone that his ankle is not what currently ‍ails‍ him. “A lot of things are ‍aching a lot more than my ankle, which⁤ is the ‍way it goes,” he said at⁢ the age of 48.

Woods emphasized the importance of his training regimen and⁤ expressed gratitude for the opportunity to eliminate ‌the‌ rust‍ and doubts that ⁣have accumulated during ⁢his absence from competitive ‌play. He ‌acknowledged that ⁤his limited competition schedule is a result of a serious leg injury sustained in a⁣ car accident in ‍2021. Looking⁤ ahead, he plans to compete⁣ in one tournament per⁤ month in⁤ 2024,⁣ although he⁤ will not have the luxury of using a⁣ cart on the PGA Tour.

Despite ⁢these challenges, Woods firmly believes in ‍his ability to regain his ‍winning form. He⁤ still⁢ considers himself to possess the necessary shot-making skills. ⁣The ‌key aspect now lies in his endurance ‌and consistency on the course.

“I ‌know I can ⁣still do⁤ it,” Woods affirmed, demonstrating his unwavering ⁤confidence in⁤ his ability ⁢to compete and succeed at the highest level.

As fans and golf‍ enthusiasts, we eagerly await Tiger Woods’s upcoming performances and hope to witness his celebrated return to the winner’s circle.
