Wow: 9/11 photo of the year, Trump, Harris, Biden, and Bloomberg – Washington Examiner
The article discusses a notable moment during the 9/11 memorial ceremony at Ground Zero in New York, where former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, who had engaged in a heated debate just hours earlier, were seen coming together to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks. The event included President Joe Biden and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who helped facilitate interaction among the officials. This moment drew comparisons to the January 2021 inauguration, where Trump notably did not attend Biden’s swearing-in ceremony. The article highlights how the unexpected camaraderie during the memorial stood out, ultimately framing it as a significant photo opportunity for the year.
Wow: 9/11 photo of the year, Trump, Harris, Biden, and Bloomberg
Wednesday’s 9/11 ceremony at ground zero in New York was a photo of the year in the making.
Less than 12 hours after former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris left a Philadelphia debate stage following a 90-minute angry clash, the two came together at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to memorialize the terrorist attacks that killed 2,977 people on Sept. 11, 2001. The Washington Examiner’s Jack Birle wrote it up here.
In a scene that didn’t even happen on Inauguration Day in 2021, Trump, Harris, and President Joe Biden stood together. Recall that Trump skipped Biden’s inauguration.
The video feed from C-SPAN showed former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, acting as mediator, tapping Harris to get her to acknowledge Trump. When she turned, Harris and Trump had a much more cordial handshake than they did the night before.

As they shook hands, Trump said something and gave Harris’s hand a friendly pat with his left hand, and she appeared to mouth, “Thank you.”
Trump’s friendly tone was a shift from Tuesday night when it was Harris who approached Trump to shake hands. They didn’t shake hands after the debate ended.
