WWE’s Vince McMahon Settles With Former Referee Who Accused Him of Rape


Vince McMahon has settled a case against Rita Chatterton alleging that he raped him.

Chatterton had written McMahon a November letter demanding $11.75million. The Wall Street Journal reports The charges were settled for less than this, but for an undisclosed amount. “multimillion dollars.”

McMahon’s longtime lawyer Jerry McDevitt told the outlet, “Mr. McMahon denies and always has denied raping Ms. Chatterton. And he settled the case solely to avoid the cost of litigation.”

Chatterton’s allegations against McMahon were first made in 1992 when she said in TV interviews that he raped her in the back of his limousine. McMahon sued Chatterton in 1993. She claimed that she was encouraged to accuse him sexually assaulting her by a wrestler. “axe to grind” But he later withdrew his suit.
