Charles Barkley slams Bud Light boycott: ‘You can’t cancel me!’
Former NBA Star Charles Barkley Criticizes Bud Light Boycott Campaign
During his visit to the American Century Celebrity golf tournament at Lake Tahoe, former NBA star Charles Barkley didn’t hold back in expressing his opinion on the Bud Light boycott campaign. In a bold and unfiltered statement, Barkley made it clear where he stood.
“And I’m gonna tell y’all something,” said Barkley. ”All you rednecks or a**holes who don’t want to drink Bud Light, f*** y’all.”
While some boos could be heard, the majority of the audience applauded Barkley’s remarks. He fearlessly declared that he wasn’t afraid of being “canceled.”
“As I said last night, if you’re gay, God bless you. If you’re trans, God bless you. If you have a problem with them, f*** you,” said Barkley.
Barkley’s comments come in the wake of Bud Light’s controversial partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, which received significant backlash. The negative response resulted in a decline in Bud Light sales, causing the brand to lose its position as the most purchased beer brand in the United States.
Despite several unsuccessful attempts to regain its popularity, Bud Light is not giving up. The latest effort is the announcement of the ”Bud Light Backyard Tour,” a music tour set to take place in August. The tour will visit various cities, including Nashville, Tennessee; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; St. Louis, Missouri; and Charlottesville, Virginia.
However, Bud Light’s struggles continue as retailer Costco has decided not to restock the beer. The product has been given a ”death star“ symbol, indicating that once it sells out, it will not be replenished.
