‘Yeah, So?’ Drew Barrymore Says She’ll Go ‘Years’ Without Sex, No Problem

Drew Barrymore recently admitted that going without sex for extended periods of time is no big deal for her.

The 47-year-old actress made the comments during a Wednesday episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” per Fox News.

“What’s wrong with me that six months doesn’t seem like a very long time?” she quipped to co-host Ross Mathews. The pair had been discussing Andrew Garfield saying he didn’t have sex for six months in preparation for his role as a priest in the 2016 Scorsese drama “Silence.”

“I was like, ‘Yeah, so?’” Barrymore continued.

“That’s the headline: ‘Drew can go six months, no big deal,’” Mathews replied. The actress doubled down on her previous statement, saying, “Oh, years.”

Barrymore has been married and divorced three times and recently talked about how she’s navigating being a single mom. The “50 First Dates” star has two children with ex Will Kopelman and said she’s hesitant about bringing home men she’s not seeing seriously.

“I’m not there yet,” she explained on her show earlier this year. “I have two young girls, and I don’t want to bring people home. I think that it would take me a very long time to meet someone and get to know them before I could ever even introduce them to my daughters.”

Barrymore’s dysfunctional upbringing as a child star with celebrity parents is well-documented. But she said she hopes what she went through ultimately makes her a better mom.

“I didn’t have parents, I was the parent to them. It was all totally upside-down,” she told The Mail in November 2021.

“So I didn’t know what I was doing. When people would talk to me about parenting I felt like an outcast. It took years for me to pluck up the courage to say, ‘Can you speak to me as someone who is desperately trying to learn? Can you teach me?’”

“I’ve got love and humor but we’re all learning on the job,” Barrymore continued. “I don’t want to be my kids’ friend – I am their parent. I hope my experience growing up in an industry toxically riddled with vanity can help me be better with my kids.”

Barrymore also described herself as “old-fashioned” when it comes to love.

“I’m not really aggressively looking, but watching this old-fashioned show was weirdly this keyhole entry point for me to accept the modern world because I am so old-fashioned,” the actress told James Corden about how she loves watching “Bridgerton.”
