“Yellowstone” Officially Ending Amidst Kevin Costner’s Divorce – Final Episodes Airing in November
Entertainment It has just been confirmed that “Yellowstone” is officially ending after the star Kevin Costner’s wife filed for divorce. Paramount has confirmed that the hugely successful show “Yellowstone” will be ending, with the final episodes of the current fifth season airing in November. This announcement came after Kevin Costner’s wife Christine Baumgartner, who he’s been married to for 18 years, filed for divorce on Monday.
‘Yellowstone’ Ending Daily Mail reported that the end of “Yellowstone” was announced by Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios.
“‘Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits — from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King,’ and I am confident our sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan [the show’s creator] and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life,” he said.
Deadline previously reported that Matthew McConaughey is in talks to star in a sequel series to “Yellowstone.” A Paramount spokesman said that “McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner.”

Tensions On ‘Yellowstone’ Set Rumors had long swirled that there was serious drama behind the scenes on “Yellowstone” between the star Costner and the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan.
“It’s the same as with any showrunner and big star — there’s respect, but there’s friction,” a well-placed production source told The New York Post last month.
Another highly-placed Hollywood source stated that while there is ego at play here, it might not necessarily be Costner’s.
“Taylor is the star of his show,” this insider explained. “He’s the most important person on all of his shows.”
“Taylor spent years not being truly appreciated in Hollywood, and now that he’s the top of the heap, there’s definitely some ego to all of this,” the Hollywood source continued.
Costner Shoots Down Rumors It was claimed earlier this year that Costner only wanted to spend one week shooting the second half of season five, but he denied this through his attorney, who said this claim was “an absolute lie.” The Hollywood source agreed that Costner was ready to shoot at the end of last year and in January, but Sheridan had no scripts ready.
“Kevin’s been extremely cooperative with working with Taylor and his production company, 101 Studios,” said the Hollywood source. “They were supposed to shoot the second chapter of Season 5 late last year, but they just didn’t have the scripts.”
“Taylor is overburdened and Kevin made himself available at the beginning of the year, but again, nothing was ready,” the Hollywood source continued. “Kevin had already committed to making his other movies. He had given the producers his schedule.”
“In the entertainment industry, you can’t keep yourself in a holding pattern and available while the producers are not getting their act together with the scripts,” this source explained. “There was nothing to shoot.”
Costner’s Divorce This comes at a difficult time for Costner, as sources close to him have said he was “stunned” by his wife filing for divorce earlier this week.
“Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back,” a source close to Costner told Page Six. “It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children.”
Costner and Baumgartner, 49, are parents to Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 12. The source went on to shoot down rumors that Costner had cheated on Baumgartner.
“There was no issue of cheating at all,” the insider added.

“Yellowstone” is one of the most popular shows on television, as shown by the fact that a whopping 12.1 million people watched the season five premiere back in November. It’s devastating that this show is coming to an end, and we pray that Costner and everyone else involved with it are able to bounce back.
